NEARLY ALL SPACE ODYSSEY VISITS ARE FOR SCHOOLS, COLLEGES AND VOLUNTEER GROUPS ETC. BUT SOMETIMES EVENTS ARE PUT ON WHICH ARE ACCESSIBLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THIS PAGE LISTS ANY SUCH EVENTS, WITH LINKS TO HOW AND WHERE TO BOOK TICKETS FOR PUBLICLY-ACCESSIBLE PLANETARIUM SESSIONS
Simon will be taking Space Odyssey’s Voyager dome to Barnstaple’s historic Pannier Market on Sunday 29th September 2024 for a series of public dome sessions focussing on the science of Climate Change. These sessions are part of a range of exciting activities on offer in the market hall as part of the day’s Energy Fair, where various organisations and companies working in the sector will be offering advice and energy solutions to the general public.
The dome presentations themselves will include NSC Creative’s amazing 360-degree 3D immersive Fulldome film “We Are Guardians”, which explores the science of ecosystems and climate change, how remote sensing satellites collect data to monitor environmental changes and exploring some of the steps we can all take to help save the world! Each session will end with a quick look at the September nights skies, too. Suitable for ages 5+
Details of how to book places on the series of 40-minute sessions that will be offered throughout the day will be added to this page once known.
Space Odyssey domes will be featuring in this year’s Exmoor Dark Skies festival once again, including public planetarium sessions in South Molton on Tuesday 22nd October and in Minehead on Saturday 26th October 2024.
